A total of 23,000 Orthodox churches have been rebuilt in Russia in the past 20 years, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia said Friday. “Nothing of the kind has happened in any country at any time in history,” the leader of Russia’s Orthodox Christians said.
Well they obviously haven’t wasted any time getting the business going again now have they? They make it sound like there weren’t any churches active at all in Russia prior to 20 years ago but there were over 7,000 active churches.
The thing is that there are many new churches in Russia that only have a small congregation. It isn’t like they are packing them in with standing room only like St Patrick’s in NYC on Xmas eve.
It’s more like they are setting up Starbuck’s franchises in Wyoming and South Dakota.
Who said it isn’t a big business? (It’s all about the advertising)
